Jordan Park / San Francisco, CA
This large, handsome house was built in 1904 with grand formal spaces that were ripe for an update when our clients purchased it more than a century later.
Working with Sutro Architects, we directed an extensive renovation from stem to stern to adapt the historic home for contemporary living. The kitchen and family room spaces were opened up to each other, and large glass doors installed to connect the spaces to the freshly landscaped surroundings. All the bathrooms and closets were rethought and updated. Excavation created enough space to accommodate additional guest quarters, a home gym, laundry, wine room, media room and home office, along with utilities and storage partially below grade.
Our clients appreciate both modern and traditional aesthetics, and wanted a home with sophisticated spaces designed for comfortable family living and entertaining. Now the house is ready to last for another century.
